Richard Stang

Richard Stang co-founded Business Innovation Group to help companies realize rapid business growth by Mastering the Innovation Process.

As Managing Director, Richard has over 18 years professional experience in technology and product commercialization; pilot program and beta test development and execution; national and international strategic sales and business development; channel partner creation, development and implementation of fully integrated marketing plans; project management; and strategic planning for companies ranging in size from start-ups to international organizations.

Richard began his professional career as a business law attorney in New York City. While shaping his career from that of a business law to a business development professional, Richard has leveraged his training and experience in finding strategic solutions to new and complex business situations. Drawing on his experience, Richard has developed a sharp, analytical skill set and disciplined process to hone proprietary technology and product commercialization models, assess and visualize unique business opportunities and relationships, and formulate, and execute upon, strategic marketing plans and business development arrangements and partnerships to capitalize on these opportunities. Moreover this training and experience has positioned Richard as a quick and versatile subject matter expert and extremely accomplished in the creative process area.

Prior to co-founding Business Innovation Group, Richard established a successful business consulting company entitled “GC Resources, LLC”. Richard has also held senior executive positions with a start-up software technology company where he was primarily responsible for negotiating and documenting all strategic licensing and sales programs, operational management and compliance, and acting as lead negotiator for two private equity financings. Richard was also a member of the executive committee to the state of Rhode Island’s Economic Development Corporation where he was personally responsible for formulating and implementing business development initiatives in the technology, energy, insurance, and financial services industries, overseeing project management of several high profile development projects, and acting as the corporation’s legislative and governmental liaison.

Richard’s previous experience also includes work with several large companies in their assessment, acquisition, and operation of various manufacturing operations, pharmaceutical companies, and financial service organizations, and the developer of electrical cogeneration facilities.

Richard is a member for the Rhode Island Tech-Collective’s Info-Group. Richard is also a member of Leadership Rhode Island, Tau Class and St. Luke’s Men’s Fellowship.

Richard is a graduate of Rhode Island College and Boston University School of Law. He resides in Westport, MA with his wife and two sons.
